For Safe Sleep, Keep These Items OUT!

Doctors don’t know what causes SIDS, and there’s no way to prevent it. But according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are a few things you can do to reduce your baby’s risk for SIDS and other sleep-related complications. That includes keeping baby’s crib free from certain items, including:

Pillows Loose Blankets & sheets" Tese may cover a baby’s face or head, restricting air flow
"Teddy Bears Soft Toys Crib bumpers Bottles" Though they seem safe, these items can pose a choking/suffocation hazard while baby is asleep
"Cats & Dogs" Pets sometimes like to snuggle with babies, which can lead to accidental suffocation
"Other Children Mom & Dad" "Your baby should sleep alone in her crib which can be placednear your bed if you prefer"

Experts with the CDC advise that babies should be placed to sleep on their backs, on a firm mattress with a fitted sheet. Don’t use blankets or too many layers of clothing; baby should be wearing a onesie or pajama set that’s comfortable for the room temperature.
